‘Old Kuwaiti house in Dubai greets 15,000 visitors daily’

ABU DHABI, Dec 30, (KUNA): An old Kuwaiti house now greets visitors of Dubai’s Global Village and displays and offers an array of traditional crafts, photos and tokens from old Kuwait, and different media, shedding light on Kuwait’s progress and development plan, head of the organizers Aisha Al-Rshaid told KUNA on Thursday.

Al-Rshaid noted that the Kuwaiti section introduces visitors to the country’s desert and marine environment, stresses the role and contributions of state bodies, including KUNA, in the state’s cultural life, and proudly receives an average 15,000 visitors per day.

She added many state bodies support the Kuwaiti participation in this international gathering place including Kuwait Petroleum Company, the Higher Institute for Musical Arts, and Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, among others.

The Global Village is a perfect place for interaction among world cultures and peoples and we sought to represent the true Kuwaiti spirit, folklore, and cultural identity to the best of our ability, she added.

Media specialist, KUNA, Kawthar Al-Ghanim meanwhile said the agency is offering material and media that would introduce visitors to KUNA’s objectives, nature of work, contributions, and services offered to the public.

The Kuwaiti pavilion won prizes for four years in a row, the last of which for best design and organization in 2008.
