Municipality seizes 22 abandoned vehicles

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: During a wide ranging campaign in various provinces of the Ahmadi governorate the Ahmadi Municipality has towed to its garage 22 vehicles which had been ‘abandoned’ in the area and/or offered for sale on the pavements, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.
Without going into detail the daily said 22 owners of other vehicles were issued citations for violating Municipality rules.
The daily added the campaign was supervised by head of the Ahmadi Municipality Al Fahad Al-Otaibi and director of public hygiene Mamdouh Enezi and supervisor Sultan Al Hajri.
The campaign came in the wake of maintaining public hygiene on the background of adherence to rules and regulations of the Municipality.
The daily quoting an official of the Municipality said this falls under the responsibility of municipalities to offer best services keeping in mind the various aspects related to hygiene and to protect state property.
He went on to say the campaign will continue in all governorates to prevent people offering cars for sale by the roadside.
The official also said the violators are being warned well in advance before the vehicles are towed to the Municipality garage.
Meanwhile, the director of the Jahra Municipality has said 48 cars which were ‘abandoned’ in the vicinity of the Abdali center have been towed to the Municipality’s Amghara garage.
The daily cited security reasons.
