Forged ID for KD 100 - Filipina, bedoun held Concern over sale of illegal drugs, medicines

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: Police have arrested a bedoun and a Filipino woman for preparing and ‘issuing’ forged civil IDs to people wanted by law. The couple has been referred to the authorities, reports Al-Anba daily.
When police arrested an unidentified person for carrying a forged civil ID, they discovered it was the bedoun who was behind this crime. Acting on this information they set a trap for him and caught him red-handed while issuing a forged ID for KD 100.
Police are said to have seized from the man 15 original civil IDs and a similar number of forged IDs from his home.
Police have also arrested the Filipino woman who worked in a photo shop. She was allegedly photocopying the original Civil ID for KD 20 each.

Concern over sale of illegal drugs, medicines: Head of Fatat Sports Club and Chairperson of Kuwait Society for Ideal Family Sheikha Fareeha Al-Ahmad expressed concern over the sale of illegal drugs and medicines, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Sheikha Fareeha said newspapers regularly carry advertisements which claim to offer alternative medicine for removing cellulite, lowering cholesterol, drugs for figure-enhancement, losing weight and so on.
Wondering how these illegal products enter the market, she called on owners of newspapers to ban the promotion of these products. She said except products which are licensed by the Ministry of Health (MoH), no other health product should be promoted.

130 citations issued: Several teams of traffic officers issued 130 citations for various traffic violations in a three-hour nationwide campaign on Monday, says a press release. The violations include not using the seat belt, engine smoke, use of mobile phones while driving, performing car stunts, and driving without a license. The campaign was launched in compliance with the directives of Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Mahmoud Al-Dosari and his deputy for traffic regulation and licensing Brigadier Ehsan Al-Owaish.

Verdict annulled: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Hisham Abdullah, overruled the verdict of Court of First Instance which sentenced a Kuwaiti man to two months imprisonment with hard labor for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect was driving on King Fahd Road when a police patrol stopped him to check his identification documents. The officer noticed the suspect’s sleepy behavior and questioned him. The suspect allegedly admitted that he drank liquor, after which he was arrested and referred to authorities.

Salon workers in fight: An Egyptian and a Syrian, who work in a salon, sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies after engaging in a fistfight in Farwaniya, says Al-Seyassah.
Paramedics and securitymen rushed to the location after the Operations Room received information on the fight. The injured were referred to Farwaniya Hospital and police are waiting for their health condition to improve before conducting investigations to know the actual circumstances leading to the scuffle.
