West End Watches Co clinch IBAK title An Indian crowd of around 80 people and their families divided into 10 teams including: The Santa Strikers, Mistletoes, Crusaders, All Stars, Reindeers, Deminions, Marol, Merchant, West End Watch Co & Nelson Strikers took part in bowling tourney. Kick off started at 2.30 pm at the Kuwait Sea Sport Club bowling lanes with shadow bowling. After the first elimination round the score of the 10 teams were as follows: Crusaders 409 pin falls, All Stars 472 pin falls, Reindeers 574 pin falls, Deminions 581 pin falls, The Santa Strikers 682 pin falls, Marol 618 pin falls, Merchant 348 pin falls West End Watch Co 715 pin falls, Nelson Strikers 486 pin falls & Mistletoes 397.
The top 3 teams namely West End Watches Co, The Santa Strikers; and Marol qualified for the finals. The remaining seven teams who didn’t qualify for the team event had a chance to qualify for the Singles Male, Female & under 18. The toppers for five single men were Nelson D’Souza, Colin Pereira, Zahid, Mudassir & Mattew Eapen. Amongst the females Merlyn, Amanda Fernando, Shirley Castelino & Nisrin qualified for women’s singles event. The under 18 team qualifiers were Penelope Menezes, Enaam, Ashra, Ali Raza; and Anshu. The eliminated teams enjoyed their lunch and watched the progress of the IBAK Christmas League Bowling Team Tournament Finals.
The West End Watches Co sustained their elimination round performance with a more impressive showing in the final round to clinch the coveted title with plenty to spare. The Santa strikers who started strongly in the final round settled for the first runner up honours while Marol squad who failed to put up a rally in the final round bagged the second runner up posts.
West End Watches Co crew of Jason D’Souza, Anastasius Menezes, Fatima Sequeira, Adrian Noronha & Ulysses Menezes wasted no time and stretched their advantage to a whopping 68 pins with a total of 758 pin falls by outs coring The Santa Strikers with a total of 690 pin falls were bannered by Lloyd Fernandes, Victor Mathais, Audrey, Asad, and Lloyd D’Souza.
Second Runners up Marol who finished with 597 pin falls were headed in this league by Joel Fernandes, Monali Jeremiah, Ansley Jeremiah, Val, and Colin Costa.
The rest of the singles finalist finished as follows: Men’s Singles Mattew Eapen, Female Singles Amanda Fernando; and the Under 18 finals were bagged by Ansh (under 18). After prize awarding ceremony Mc Lloyd D’Souza thanked the main sponsors West End Watches Co (1st prize), Burhan Infosysnet Systems, Carmo Santos, Santa Strikers, and donors for their dedication and support to carry out all the activities for the First Official Indian Bowling Tournament to take place in Kuwait which was a great success.
