Police hunt fugitive actress, lover creating ‘nuisance’ in drunk state Illegal Asians caught selling rotten food in Kabad raid
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 25: Police are looking for a well-known actress and her Bedoun boyfriend for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police patrol on routine duty in Salmiya noticed three youngsters, including a girl, dancing in a car and asked them to show their identification documents. The actress and her boyfriend ran away on foot, but police managed to arrest the third youth who was high on alcohol. Police seized a bottle of whisky from the car and the arrested youth disclosed that the other youth who ran away was his brother.
Illegal Asians caught selling rotten food:A team of police officers from the Jahra Security Department, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality branch in the governorate, recently launched a massive inspection campaign in Kabad, resulting in the arrest of 13 Asians for violating the Residency Law and food safety regulations.
In compliance with the directive of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Khalil Al-Shimali, the team raided an open space in Kabad in which 13 Asians were found selling spoilt food items like vegetables, fruits, fish and meat. The team also discovered some of the Asians are staying in the country illegally, since they hold expired residence permits. The Asians were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Security officials explained the campaign was aimed at clamping down on anyone found to have violated the law, especially those who sell spoilt food items. They affirmed the campaign will continue and strict measures will be taken against those who were arrested to serve as deterrent to others.
Grocer rapes teen: Police arrested a Bed-oun grocer for sodomizing a 14-year-old Syrian boy inside a grocery shop in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the brothers of the victim heard his screams emanating from a grocery and broke open the doors, but the act had been committed by then.
The victim said the culprit saw him smoking and threatened to inform his father. After a few minutes, he pretended to calm the boy, took him to the shop, closed the door and committed the crime.
The brothers handed the rapist to Rumaithiya police and a case was registered against him.
‘Jihadist’ returns: A Kuwaiti teenager, identified as J.D., has returned back to Kuwait after nearly two years of fighting against the coalition forces in Afghanistan, reports Al-Rai daily.
Informed sources said the Kuwaiti, 18, left for Afghanistan at the age of 16. Shrapnel from a recent grenade attack reportedly caused him head injuries and he was shifted to Pakistan after being given basic treatment. Sources added that the youth received full treatment in Islamabad and was advised to surrender because of his age. Subsequently, he turned himself at the Embassy of Kuwait in Islamabad and embassy officials informed security authorities in Pakistan who interrogated him before deporting him to Kuwait. The youth came aboard a Kuwaiti flight Friday morning.
He was sent to the State Security Police where officials are questioning how he left for Afghanistan and about his activities in the last two years.
Taxi driver stabbed: Police are looking for four unidentified men for stabbing the driver of a roaming taxi and attempting to steal the vehicle, reports Al-Anba daily.
Sources say the suspects asked the driver to take them to Khaitan and on the way, they threatened to harm him if he did not stop the vehicle and get off it. When the driver resisted, the suspects stabbed him and escaped on foot.
Family threatened: Police are looking for an unidentified man for locking his family in a room in their home in Sa’ad Al-Abdullah area and threatening them with a firearm, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
His wife, somehow, managed to take the firearm from him and called police. The man later escaped on foot on hearing the siren of police patrols. It is not clear why the man was ‘punishing’ his family.
