KUWAIT CITY, Dec 24: The money owed to ministries and government agencies by individuals and companies for consumption of water, electricity, telephones, medical treatment and health insurance services is believed to be in the range of KD 760 million, reports Al-Shahed daily.

According to a report issued by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Electricity and Water has the lion share in the form of outstanding debts running up to KD 300 million, followed by the Ministry of Communications KD 151 million, the Oil Ministry KD 143 million for services rendered.
The Ministry of Finance has not collected KD 102 million in taxes, rents and revenues from investment contracts, while the Ministry of Health is eyeing collection of KD 25 million from individuals for overseas medical treatment and revenues from the health insurance scheme.

Other major outstanding debts are owed to the Ministry of Public Works to the tune of KD 8.811 million while Ministry of Higher Education is still unable to collect KD 6.925 million, followed by the Social Affairs Ministry KD 3.643 million.

The report indicates the Ministry of Education is still expecting KD 7.144 million, in addition to KD 8.665 that has to be credited to the account of the Civil Services Commission.
The Ministry of Information wants KD 10.187 million, the General-Directorate of Civil Aviation has yet to collect KD 2.903 million, the share of the Ministry of Interior is believed to be KD 6.598 million, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs KD 81,000.

The outstanding money the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Customs Department need is KD 3.998 million, KD 79,000 and KD 1.447 million respectively.
