Youth cheats would be wife, buys car, travels Police nab Asian selling porn CDs
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 22: The Farwaniya police have into custody an unidentified Asian man for trading in porno films.
Director of the Farwaniya Security Directorate Brigadier Ghloum Habib acting on information formed a team of security and raided the home of the suspect in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and seized from him 4,000 copies of pirated CDs including porno material in addition to copying machines.
The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the authorities.
Meanwhile, police sources have declared security campaigns will continue in various governorates to arrest illegal residents and violators of law.
Youth cheats would be wife: The Hawalli police have arrested an unidentified youth for cheating an unidentified young woman. He is said to have escaped with KD 70,000, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the youth promised to marry the woman and claimed he had no house to keep her after the marriage. The woman fell for the ploy and gave him the money.
After taking the money the youth disappeared and several attempts by the woman to contact him ended in failure.
She was forced to file a complaint with the police. Following the arrest the youth admitted to the crime and said he used the money to buy a car for KD 35,000 and spent the rest of the money on travel overseas.
A case of betrayal of trust has been registered against the youth.
Victim of in-laws: A 25-year-old Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Mubarak Al-Kabir Police Station accusing her husband, mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law of abusing and humiliating, causing damage to her room and stealing some stuff, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints and the suspects have been summoned for interrogation.
Sports car stolen: Police have arrested a 16-year-old Kuwaiti for stealing a sports car belonging to a compatriot, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The arrest came when the victim reported the theft of his car which was parked in front of his home in Sulaibikhat.
Investigations conducted by securitymen led to the arrest of the suspect just 24 hours after committing the crime. He was caught while attempting to sell the car to a police agent for KD 1,500.
Police records show the youth is wanted by law in connection with several crimes.
Indian shot, injured: An unidentified Indian man who was allegedly hit in the shoulder by a stray bullet in the Jahra Industrial Area has been admitted to the Jahra Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily.
A security source said a Kuwaiti called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior when he saw the victim clutching his shoulder and blood all over his clothes.
The daily added it took the doctors one hour to extract the bullet. Police are looking for the gunman.
