KD 6m cameras damaged Crowds buy porn

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: The Ministry of Interior is investigating how the cameras worth KD 6 million got damaged before they were installed on roads, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting a knowledgeable source.
The same source said the special cameras were imported to monitor roads when dignitaries visit the country. The cameras got damaged inside the storage place.
The source added the supplying company handed over the cameras to the ministry and its job was only to install and test the equipment and not to ensure its safety when in ministry store.
The source added the company has been paid the money in full following the intervention of an unidentified influential personality.
The source added when the General Traffic Department requested new cameras the Audit Bureau inquired about the cameras which had been brought earlier but the GTD said these had been installed at various locations on sensitive roads.

Crowds buy porn: Police have arrested two Asians for selling porno CDs and referred them to the authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. A police patrol on routine duty saw several people gathered in a circle in a suburb of Sharq and when they approached the group, they saw the suspect selling CDs. According to police the CDs were camouflaged with cartoon covers.


Pigeons, TV stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into a stable in Jahra and escaped with 84 pigeons, a Plasma TV and electronic appliances, reports Al-Shahed daily. An Indian grocer working in the area said he saw a man carrying the pigeons cages in a half lorry but did not know he was a thief. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
Meanwhile, police are looking for two persons riding in a Japanese car for snatching the handbag of a 27-year-old Syrian woman. The incident happened while she was walking along a road in Salmiya, reports Al-Shahed daily. In her complaint to the Rumaithiya Police Station the woman said the bag contained the civil IDs of her children, her driving license and KD 100.
