Burgan Bank restated its commitment towards its corporate social responsibility initiative by successfully hosting the 9th Annual Al Mass Awards on Dec 12, 2010 at the Discovery Centre. The Al Mass Awards which is held every year in the month of December, honors outstanding individuals for their success and achievements despite their handicap. For the first time this year, Burgan Bank also honored two organizations for producing the highest number of winners. Ten outstanding individuals were presented awards in three categories - the Blue diamond award for those with a cognitive or mental disability; the Yellow diamond award for those with physical disabilities; and the White diamond award, for those with a sensory disability such as deaf, mute and blind individuals.

Present at the occasion was Burgan Bank Chairman Majed Essa Al Ajeel, Burgan Bank Board Member Sadoun Ali, Al Shiekha Sheikha Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah the honorary Chairman of the Handicapped Sports club, as well as the handicapped organizations delegates. The names of the winners were announced through a special documentary feature, where the achievement of each of the winner was highlighted. Special thanks and gratitude was given to all those who have been working behind the scenes that have helped those with special needs achieve their goals. Each of the winners received a beneficiary fund from Burgan Bank, deposited in their own special account at the Bank.
