Asian strongman held for beating compatriots, taking monthly ‘tax’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The Jahra police have arrested a well-built Asian man for forcing compatriots in the Jahra Industrial Area to pay him money every month, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added police received complaints from expatriates that the man beats them if they don’t pay him money at the beginning of every month.
Police reportedly set a trap for the man and caught him red-handed inside a garage in the area. He has been referred to the authorities for interrogation.

Asian held in fraud: Police have arrested an unidentified expatriate who was wanted by law in connection with a KD 6,000 financial fraud, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
He was taken into custody when he got down from his car and was watching a traffic accident on the King Fahd Expressway and as a result was the reason for traffic jam. When police checked his ID they found he was wanted by law.
In other news police have arrested an Asian man for committing the same offence on the Sixth Ring Road.
The Asian is wanted for failing to pay KD 500 debt. Both men have been referred to the authorities.

Illegal ops:  In a rare incident, a doctor working for a government polyclinic has been referred to the Legal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Health for interrogation for allegedly performing plastic surgery to enlarge lips, breasts and cheeks of women for free, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to sources the doctor claims he was performing these surgeries at the polyclinic to gain experience. The daily did not give more details.
