Boys thrash Asian, snatch wallet
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 9: Three youngsters, all under 18, waylaid an Asian expatriate, beat him up and stole his wallet containing KD 240 and other personal documents.
The expatriate, 34, filed a report at Fahaheel Police Station, saying when he was walking in the area, the culprits suddenly confronted him and asked him to submit his wallet. When he refused, he said, the boys beat him with sticks and sharp objects and snatched his wallet. He provided the boys’ description to police and the information has been circulated to all checkpoints.
Expat in suicide bid: An Asian expatriate suffered multiple fractures and various other injuries when he jumped from the third floor of a building in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area in a vain attempt to kill himself. He was referred to Farwaniya Hospital and a case of attempted suicide was registered against him.
3 laptops, TV stolen: A thief broke into a Kuwaiti man’s house in Sabahiya and decamped with three laptop computers and a TV set. The family was away when the robbery took place.
The Kuwaiti owner, 51, filed a report at Sabahiya Police Station and said he found the door of the house broken when he returned late at night. Criminal Evidence Department officials lifted fingerprints from the scene and police are looking for the culprit.
Sudanese hurt in fight: A Sudanese man suffered injuries on his face during a fight he had with another man in Hawalli area.
On receiving information about the fight, securitymen rushed to the scene, arrested both men and referred them to authorities. Sources say investigations are going on.
Fury uncalled for: Police arrested a young man for verbally abusing two officers on duty at a checkpoint in Jahra.
Reportedly, the man’s wife was driving their car and he was sitting beside her. When one officer, a lieutenant, asked the woman to show her license and vehicle registration book, the man got angry, came out of the vehicle and started abusing the officer. Another officer, a captain, then tried to intervene, but the man started abusing both of them. The officers then arrested him and referred him to authorities. A case was registered.
Wanted Kuwaiti held: Securitymen arrested a 33-year-old Kuwaiti man wanted by law in six criminal and drug-related cases and referred him to authorities. The man was earlier sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. He was arrested at a checkpoint.
Drunkard abuses cops: Police arrested a man for driving under the influence of alcohol and abusing police officers on duty in Salmiya area and referred him to authorities.
Patrols had noticed the man driving at a very late hour and asked him for his identification papers. It soon became evident that the motorist was drunk and when officers seized a bottle of liquor from his car, he reportedly started abusing the officers.
