KIPCO’s CSR efforts recognized in Lebanon

KIPCO — the Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) — has received an honorary award from the Rahma Medical Center and the Azm and Saade Association during the “Fourth Scientific Congress: Neurological Rehabilitation... Towards Globalization and Distinction”. The event was held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad El Hariri, in Tripoli. Abeer Al Omar, Assistant Vice-President, Corporate Communications Department, received the award on behalf of KIPCO and expressed her appreciation to the organizers for the award. In a speech at the Congress, Al Omar said: “We thank you for this recognition, which will be a strong motivator for us to keep up our humanitarian work and the contributions that KIPCO is already making to the development and advancement of our society. This has given us greater will to continue to work along this track.”

She added: “KIPCO acknowledged the important role that it must play in CSR and has invested the necessary means to fulfill its responsibility towards society. This has led to the establishment of Masharee Al Khair Organization, with a budget that comprises a percentage of the profits made by the KIPCO Group companies. This has contributed to sustainable human development plans and charitable work in Kuwait.”
Al Omar noted that in 2008 KIPCO and Masharee Al Khair, out of their belief in the important role of the private sector in the development of society, organized in cooperation with Kuwait Dyslexia Association a year-long campaign to raise awareness about Dyslexia. The campaign included advertising, press interviews, and participation in conferences and seminars with the aim of raising awareness about Dyslexia.
