Bedoun arrested for stealing 40 vehicles
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: Bedoun held for stealing 40 cars: Personnel from the Hawally Criminal Investigation Department are said to have taken into custody a young bedoun for allegedly stealing 40 cars from different locations, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to a security source the suspect was arrested by a Hawalli patrol at dawn because the latter was moving around cars in a suspicious manner at dawn.
When the youth saw the police driving in his direction, he flung onto the road some tools which he was carrying and tried in vain to escape.
During interrogation the youth admitted he was planning to steal the car. He also told police he usually steals the cars with the help of duplicate keys but sometimes he used other instruments.
He added he drives the stolen cars for some time and then gets rid of them for fear of getting caught either by dismantling them and selling their parts or selling them for scrap or abandoning them in open areas after stealing the valuables and parts.
Police arrest wanted bedoun: Police have arrested a 34-year-old bedoun from Sulaibiya who was wanted in connection with three criminal cases including a drug offence and had been sentenced in absentia to six years imprisonment, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to a security source the suspect was caught while driving in the area. He has been handed over to the concerned authorities.
Tel cards, KD 70 stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into a grocery shop in Mangaf and stealing KD 70 and prepaid telephone cards worth KD 120, reports a local Arabic daily.
According to a report filed by the victim’s Kuwaiti sponsor a man wearing a dishdasha entered the shop, pulled out a knife and stole the money.
The sponsor has also submitted a medical report showing injuries on the man’s body.
Mechanic held for truck thefts: The Hawalli police have arrested an unidentified car mechanic in connection with the theft of trucks, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the man stole the trucks dismantled the parts and smuggled them out of the country for sale.
The arrest came following a complaint filed by a Kuwaiti man at the Rumaithiya Police Station and gave the description of the trucks.
Police investigations led securitymen to a garage in Amghara owned by an Arab man. The suspect was arrested and referred for investigation.
During interrogation the securitymen discovered the suspect took advantage of his profession and stole the trucks, hid them in the garage and dismantled them and sold parts outside the country.
