‘Wasta’ above law Sons foil bid to kill step-mother
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: Police have arrested an unidentified person for attempting to kill his stepmother and stabbing her two sons when they prevented him from carrying out his wicked act, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said when the father was informed of the incident, he summoned the police. Securitymen rushed to the house in Firdous and arrested the suspect and paramedics rushed the brothers to a hospital.
It has been reported the suspect told police he wanted to kill his stepmother because she was the main cause of his father divorcing his mother 15 years ago.
The suspect added since then he had taken to drugs.
‘Wasta’ above law: A Kuwaiti youth through the Al-Rai daily has appealed to the Minister of Interior to take action against persons who claim to work at the secretariat of a minister and abuse their authority, reports Al-Rai daily.
A youth said an Iranian man, resident of a building broke into his apartment, beat him and threatened to harm his disabled mother and the entire family if a complaint was filed against him.
He claimed he has connections in higher places particularly senior police officers because he works for a minister.
The youth added his mother is a disabled person and a special car parking area has been allocated to her.
When the Iranian parked his car in her place, the youth said he requested the man to move his car, but the latter refused.
The youth added the following day the Iranian asked to meet him and when the two met the Iranian beat him. He said he has filed a complaint against the man and a case has been registered against him.
