Bogus Lebanese businessman cheats citizen of KD 14,000

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 26: The Hawally police have circulated information about a bogus Lebanese businessman who is said to have duped and cheated a Kuwaiti man of KD 14,000, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In his complaint to the Hawalli police the victim said the Lebanese lured him to join him in a profit making business venture and when the Kuwaiti parted with the money the suspect escaped.
The victim added after getting the money the suspect refused to answer calls and now has switched off his cell phone.

Revenue stamps recycled: Pers-onnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a Bangladeshi man working at one of the sections of a traffic department for recycling revenue stamps and selling them for less than the face value, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily added police armed with a search and arrest warrant then raided the apartment of the suspect in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and seized 1,200 similar stamps.
During interrogation the suspect admitted to removing the revenue stamps from completed transactions.
He also disclosed that he took advantage of his position because he was working for the director of transactions department.
