Bomb scare at US embassy
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: A team of securitymen and bomb experts rushed to the US Embassy after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior got a call that the embassy received a suspicious parcel recently.
Upon arriving at the location, the bomb experts checked the parcel, which contained sweets from a Kuwaiti student who wrote a ‘thank you’ note addressed to one of the embassy officials, expressing his gratitude to the official for helping him complete procedures to study in the US.
Security sources revealed high-ranking security officials were also present to supervise the operation, affirming the bomb experts thoroughly checked the parcel before declaring it free from any explosive material.
Pakistani stabbed: Police are looking for two masked youths for robbing a Pakistani man and stealing from him KD 220 after stabbing him in the shoulder, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The victim was attacked on a road in Fahaheel.
Acting on information paramedics rushed to the spot and rushed the bleeding Pakistani to a hospital.
Youth in hurry: The Saudi police at the Al-Riq’ei border post in Saudi Arabia have arrested a Kuwaiti youth and referred him to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The youth was with his family and attempted to pass through the gate without completing departure formalities and drove into the barrier of the gate.
The Saudi authorities are expected to release him after signing a pledge of good conduct.
