Respite for phone subscribers
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: The Ministry of Communications temporarily suspended the automatic disconnection of the telephone lines of subscribers, who failed to pay their bills on time, in the spirit of Eid Al-Adha, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources explained the ministry took this step to ease the financial burdens of consumers during the holidays.
Meanwhile Public Relations Department Director at the ministry Ahmad Ramadan urged the subscribers with unpaid bills to settle their accounts to avoid disconnection of their lines after Eid.
He said the ministry will send a warning message to the concerned subscribers only once - on Nov 21 and the lines of those who fail to pay the bills within the specified period will be disconnected on Nov 28. He added the decision covers those with outstanding bills amounting to KD 50 or more for residential lines and KD100 or more for those with commercial lines.
