Virus is back - Swine flu kills small girl
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: An eight-year-old Kuwaiti girl died of swine flu, also known as H1N1, last week, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The death certificate issued by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital on Nov 6 states the cause of death as swine flu, say reliable sources. The child was suffering from renal failure and was hospitalized for several days. She was even shifted to the ICU, but there was no improvement in her condition and she died.
Sources say four other H1N1 cases are currently in an isolated ward in the hospital and one among them is said to be in the ICU.
Hospitals and health centers are conducting swine flu tests on all patients who are suffering from cold and high temperature, in line with Health Ministry directives, noted sources.
According to sources, H1N1 virus, which had created a global scare last winter, is making a slow comeback.
