KUWAIT CITY, Nov 10: In a three-hour campaign by security operatives from the Farwaniya Directorate, officers have confiscated tons of second-hand clothing and spoiled food inside an illegal market for selling vegetables in Jleeb Shuyoukh.
Also, they arrested 36 violators of law and impounded five trucks filled with the stuff to the Ministry of Interior garages. Sources said many of illegal shop-keepers managed to escape when securitymen besieged the market.

In a related development, securitymen from the Jahra Directorate arrested eight persons wanted by law and detained 18 people for overstay, in addition to eight other persons without civil ID inside livestock pens on Kabad Road.
The officers went on to arrest 14 individuals for overstay and eight others for various offenses. They have since been referred to the concerned authority for prosecution.

Iraq frees 4 Kuwaitis: Iraqi security officials on Tuesday stated that four Kuwaiti hunters who allegedly trespassed to the Southern Iraqi desert while hunting for birds have been released after being arrested by police in the city of Al-Naseriya, reports Al-Nahar daily.
Sources said the four Kuwaitis, whose names have not been disclosed, were released on bail by a court in the governorate, with their hunting weapons and falcons they had hunted in the company of an Iraqi guard.
During interrogation, the suspects had stated they entered the country to visit the holy sites.

Motorist assaulted: Police are looking for two unidentified youths for assaulting a Syrian motorist, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. According to reports the assailants were following the man in their vehicle and when the victim stopped at a red traffic light, the youths assaulted the Syrian and escaped leaving behind their vehicle. The man complained to the police and when securitymen were sent to the location, they found the IDs of the two youths inside the car. A case has been filed at the Sabahiya Police Station.

 Kuwaitis, maid injured: Two Kuwaitis and their Asian housemaid were injured in a three-vehicle collision in Kabad, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The injured have been admitted to the Farwaniya Hospital. The daily gave no more details.
