Six passengers beat up security officer at airport Man ‘caught’ on CCTV camera stealing KD 20,000 from shop
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 5: A security officer suffered from injuries in different parts of his body recently after six male passengers ganged up on him and beat him when he prevented them from crossing over the red line in the passengers counter at Kuwait International Airport.
Eyewitnesses revealed the officer asked the passengers not to go beyond the red lines and this led to a heated argument between them, prompting the suspects to beat the officer. The six men were referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action, while the officer was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Egyptian electrocuted: An Egyptian was found dead near an electricity transformer in Khiran Friday.
Securitymen and medical emergency personnel rushed to the location after receiving information that an Egyptian was found lying unconscious on the ground near a transformer in a chalet. However, when they arrived at the scene, the rescuers discovered the man was already dead. His remains were referred to Forensics, which later revealed the Egyptian was electrocuted.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the actual circumstances that led to the Egyptian’s death.
Man, woman held drunk: Security-men on Friday arrested a Kuwaiti man and his female compatriot at a checkpoint in Kabad Motorway for consuming alcohol.
While patrolling the area, police noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle. They asked the driver to pull over. When they approached the car, the officers discovered the driver — a Kuwaiti — and his companion, a female compatriot, were under the influence of alcohol. They also found a bottle of imported liquor when they searched the vehicle. They referred the duo to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Citizen injured in fight: A Kuwaiti, in his 30s, suffered from injuries in various parts of his body after engaging in a public brawl with an undisclosed number of young men inside a coffee shop in Salmiya Friday.
Securitymen and paramedics were dispatched to the location after the Operations Room received information on the fight. They referred the injured to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital. The other men reportedly fled from the scene after sensing police presence.
Preliminary investigations revealed the men had a heated argument over parking space. A case was registered and police are now looking for those who caused the injuries of the Kuwaiti.
KD 20,000 stolen from shop: The Ministry of Interior has circulated the picture of a person who allegedly broke into a garment shop in a popular commercial market in Al-Riqqa and stole KD 20,000 from the safe. The picture shows the man wearing a dishdasha, reports Al-Anba daily.
Contrary to what had been published earlier, a security source said the thief was not aware that the place is monitored by CCTV cameras and he is not wearing a mask.
His behavior also shows that he is aware that his activities inside the shop are recorded by the camera.
The theft was discovered by the employees when they opened the shop the next morning. One of the doors was broken and the money missing from the safe.
However, police said the man was wearing gloves while committing the crime to prevent the authorities from getting his fingerprints.
The source added the case has been handed over to the Farwaniya CID.
KD 1,400 passports stolen: Police are looking for unidentified persons who allegedly broke into the home of a Kuwaiti man in Ishbilya and stole two passports and KD 1,400, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In a complaint to the area police station, the victim said the theft took place when he was out visiting friends with his family.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints.
Thieves assault 3 nurses: Three Filipino nurses have filed complaints with the Fahaheel Police Station accusing six men wearing dishdashas of breaking into their ground floor apartment in the area, reports Al-Anba daily.
In their complaint the women said three men broke in through the main door and the other three through the window.
They added it was evident the men were looking for valuables to steal and when they discovered there was nothing worth stealing they beat them and escaped.
Before leaving they scattered all their items all over the floor. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves.
2 illegal Indians arrested: The Ha-wally police have arrested two Indians for staying in the country illegally, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting a security source said the men were arrested while walking in the area. Police stopped the men on suspicion and after checking their ID it was discovered their residence permit has expired.
They have been referred to the Nugra Police Station for legal action.
