‘Produce evidence on irregularities’ MoH affirms ‘transparency’
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Ministry of Health reiterated Tuesday night that all its administrative affairs were strictly transparent under the state supervisory bodies. The ministry hit back, in a statement, at recent press reports about irregularities in nominations and contracts between the ministry and some local and foreign medical institutions. “The claims have no grain of truth,” the statement said, charging anybody who has evidence to the contrary to produce them to the concerned judiciary or supervisory authorities. The contracts with global centers are subject to close scrutiny by the supervisory bodies while the nominations to posts in the ministry must be approved by specialized panels according to legal institutional frameworks. “The Ministry shows zero tolerance in handling any irregularity or misconduct involving any of its staffers whatever their posts might be; rules are rules,” it underlined.
Meanwhile, the ministry said the coming period would see a remarkable improvement in the quality of healthcare nationwide as per the government plan of action which has a specific timeframe.
