KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: An officer working at an immigration service center in Farwaniya was arrested for forging residency renewal documents.
The officer’s job was to put new residency stamps on old ones, but he was apparently even handling some fake cases in order to pocket ‘extra income.’ He was put under surveillance for some time and was caught red-handed. He initially denied the allegations and said it was a mistake, but when all the documents he handled were reviewed, it was discovered that he was in the practice for long.
Investigation officers at the General Immigration Department had made the arrest. Sources say there is lot of pressure from different quarters to release the officer and sweep the case under the carpet, but Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled stood firm and ordered that the officer be referred to the Public Prosecution.
 

Car set on fire in row: Five unidentified people were summoned by the Farwaniya Police Station when an expatriate man accused five friends of setting fire to his car over a financial dispute, reports Al-Rai daily. Without going into details the daily said the fire was put out by firemen. The car was totally destroyed. A case of destroying property has been filed against the five men.

Cars have horns too: It has been reported that the police have discovered some youths who drive recklessly know nothing about traffic laws, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Surprisingly police have also discovered that it is not only the cows and buffaloes have horns but also the cars.

Two rob Wafra grocery: A 43-year-old Kuwaiti man filed a report at Wafra Police Station, accusing two unidentified men of stealing KD 190 from his grocery. The complainant said the thieves threatened the Asian shopkeeper and escaped with the money.
The Asian gave details of the suspects’ appearance to police and the information was circulated to all checkpoints. Investigations are going on and police are looking for the suspects.
