Royal family imposter nabbed for swindling citizens, expats

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The CID men have arrested an unidentified Arab man for impersonating member of Kuwait’s ruling family and cheating people, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the man has cheated several residents and Kuwaitis to the tune of more than KD 20,000.
The suspect allegedly lured his victims to invest money in his business and promised them quick returns. However, after getting the money he would put his cell phone off and disappear.
He was finally arrested in Salmiya when police acting on information set a trap for him and took him into custody.
He has been referred to the concerned authorities.

Kuwaiti cheated: A Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentified company selling electronics of cheating him to the tune of KD 1,500, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
In his complaint the man said the company announced a promotion and he ordered the goods online. The company representative visited him in his house and collected the money towards the purchase and said the goods are on its way.
However, the man waited but the goods never arrived. The company is believed to be illusory. The company is said to be owned by a GCC citizen and his partner is a Kuwaiti.
Police have managed to identify the suspects and an arrest warrant has now been issued against them.

5 Syrians held: The Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police have arrested five Syrians in connection with theft and arson, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to reports police acting on information set a trap for the men and caught two of them red-handed. During interrogation they admitted to the charge and led police to their three accomplices. They have been referred to the authorities.
