16 prostitutes, 45 pleasure-seekers held in vice dens raid
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Acting on information and armed with search and arrest warrants, the Farwaniya police recently raided 10 vice dens in the area and arrested 16 prostitutes and 45 young pleasure seekers, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said one of those arrested is a Kuwaiti youth working for the National Guards.
According to police he was wanted by law in connection with an unidentified crime and had been sentenced in absentia.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
All the other arrested people have been referred to the authorities.
Prostitutes held: Security-men have arrested five Asian women from various prostitution dens in Khaitan, following a tip-off the officers received about their activities. They have been sent to the authority for further investigation.
Phones seized: In a recent surprise inspection, securitymen at the Central Prison have seized 11 mobile phones inside the various cells and forwarded a report in that concern to the concerned authorities.
Fraudsters held: Four individuals were arrested by securitymen at various locations for their involvement in a financial case. They were sent to the relevant authority for further investigation.
Car broken into: A Kuwaiti citizen filed a case in Sulaibikhat police station and reported that thieves broke into a car he had parked near a school in the area and stole some items from it. The case was registered for investigation to trail the thieves.
Youths arrested: The Jahra police during a crackdown on misbehaving youths have taken into custody 35 youngsters. They have been charged with eve teasing and harassing shoppers, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The same police have arrested 25 expatriates for violating residence laws and referred them to the authorities.
It has been reported 12 patrolmen took part in the campaign.
Stolen cars found: When several residents of Farwaniya complained about theft of their cars, police searched the desert and found two cars — one was totally burnt and the other was left untouched, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The cars were found abandoned at a lonely spot between sand dunes in a desert.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints from the cars to identify the culprits.
