Missing youth found dead, killed for blackmailing man over 5 years Bangladeshi man sentenced to death
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: A Kuwaiti military man Mubarak Al-Enezi, who went missing six days ago, has been allegedly murdered by his 23-year-old colleague Abdullah Habes.
The alleged murderer reportedly invited the victim to his diwaniya in Waha area and fired three shots from a Kalashnikov at the victim - at his head, abdomen and leg. Since nobody was at home, the gun shots were not heard by anyone. The murderer then called his cousin, an expatriate from a GCC country, who brought a sleeping bag and together they took the body in a pick-up truck to Al-Hujjaj parking area near Jahra and buried the victim there.
Securitymen, acting on the missing person’s complaint filed by the victim’s family at Jahra Police Station, started intense investigations and even circulated his description to all police patrols and check points.
Securitymen then summoned the victim’s friends and neighbors and interrogated all of them. During the interrogation on Monday, the alleged murderer confessed his crime and explained the motive. The suspect alleged that the victim took his photo using Bluetooth five years ago and has been blackmailing him ever since to extort money. He further added that when he sold his vehicle for KD 10,000, the victim came to know about it and tried once again to extort money. Hence, he decided to put the matter to rest once and for all by killing the blackmailer. He mentioned that after burying the corpse, he and his cousin eliminated all traces of murder and added that he handed over his weapon to a third friend for safe keeping, without telling anything about the crime. The friend was arrested, but it has been proved that he was in no way involved in the crime. All three, however, have been referred to Jahra Public Prosecution for further investigations.
The victim and the murderer worked in the Ministry of Defense.
Bangladeshi to die: The Court of Appeals in Bahrain recently upheld the verdict of a lower court and sentenced a Bangladeshi man to death for killing a Kuwaiti man inside a hotel during a failed robbery, reports Al-Dar daily. The Bangladeshi admitted to hitting the victim on the head several times with a bottle, gagging his mouth with a piece of cloth and suffocating him to death.
