Police arrest Kuwaiti citizen for getting drunk, molesting women ‘Kidnapped’ girl found roaming with boyfriend
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti citizen for consuming alcohol and molesting young women along the seafront in Salmiya, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to reports the drunkard stepped out of his pickup wagon and molested in female compatriot who is in her 20s. She was with her family and when she screamed for help he escaped on foot.
Police who were on patrol in the area heard the screams for help, chased the culprit, arrested him and took him to a police station.
Girl found with youth: When a Kuwaiti woman informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that an unidentified youth driving a wagon had kidnapped her daughter from Abdullah Al-Salem police began a search and found the ‘missing’ girl with the youth in the Al-Sha’ab garden, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
During interrogation they discovered the girl and the youth are friends and that the girl traveled with him of her own free will.
The daily did not give more details.
Peck on the cheek: Police have arrested an unidentified youth for kissing a woman inside a cooperative society, reports Al-Rai daily.
A police source said the youth approached the woman and gave her a piece of paper with his telephone number and when she refused, he kissed her on her cheek and ran away.
According to reports the woman filed a complaint with the area police station and gave the piece of paper on which the youth’s telephone number was written to the police which helped police arrest the culprit.
Absconders nabbed: Police have arrested two Bangladeshi men and an Indonesian woman. They were caught loitering in a suburb of Salmiya, reports Al-Dar daily.
Police records show the three people are absconders. They have been referred to the authorities.
Wanted men held: Police have arrested two people who were wanted by law in connection with civil crimes, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the arrest came in a suburb of Al-Zahra when the duo seeing a police patrol attempted to change route.
When police stopped the car and checked their names it was discovered both men had been sentenced in absentia by a court in Kuwait.
They have been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
‘Bottles belong to cop’: Police have arrested an Asian pedestrian for possessing bottles of booze, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the bootlegger was carrying a heavy bag which aroused the suspicion of a passing police patrol. The incident happened in Dai’ya.
Police arrested the man and ordered him to open the bottle which contained three bottles of whisky. However, during interrogation the Asian said the bottles belong to his sponsor who is a police officer.
The Asian has been referred to a police station, while police are investigating the issue.
Over 1,000 citations issued: According to a report issued by the General Traffic Department (GTD) 1,053 traffic citations were issued during the past three days for committing serious traffic violations, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. It has also been reported that 98 vehicles and 43 motorbikes have been impounded during the same period.
The daily did not give reasons for impounding the vehicles.
Syrian cheat sought: Police are looking for a Syrian man working for a travel agency in Farwaniya for betrayal of trust, reports Al-Anba daily. A police source said the man is wanted for cheating several people who had bought the tickets from the office.
When people went to the airport they were shocked to find out there were no bookings of seats in their name and the tickets turned out to be dummies.
When the people contacted the employee he claimed it was the act of computer hackers and promised to look into the issue. However, he is said to have disappeared the following day.
According to reliable information the man has escaped with KD 6,000.
Police nab 2 thieves: Police have arrested two youths for stealing construction material from a building under construction in Sa’ad Al-Abdullah, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspects were caught red-handed by a State Security officer who was on his way home after duty hours. The two men reportedly got into their vehicle and sped off when they saw the officer driving in their direction.
The officer then called the Operations Department of the Interior Ministry and gave location of the suspect. Police rushed to the spot, chased the men and arrested them.
When police ordered the duo to pull over, they refused police orders and continued driving until they collided with the police car and were forced to stop.
They have been referred to the authorities. Two charges have been slapped against them — stealing private property and evading police arrest.
