GTD renews appeal, asks expats, citizens to abide by traffic rules
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: The Director of Public Relations and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Mohammed Hashim Al-Sabah renewed his appeal to Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to follow the traffic rules and regulations.
In a press release, Brigadier Al-Sabah expressed sadness over the two Kuwaiti citizens who died in a traffic accident along the Nuwaiseeb Motorway, less than 24 hours after the Criminal Evidences Department had issued statistics on accident related deaths recorded between Oct 1 and Oct 15 in which 12 people died.
He confirmed the Ministry of Interior is working tirelessly to create traffic awareness, and urged motorists to abide by traffic rules. Statistics confirm that 5,337 traffic violations were issued, while 450 vehicles were seized in campaigns organized within the period, he noted.
He went on saying the ministry is coordinating with various government departments and the private sector to control traffic accidents, but parents must educate their children on need to abide by traffic rules and regulations.
In the meantime, the security departments will continue with the campaign against traffic violation. Even so, they need assistance from residents and citizens in order to achieve the objective.
