Qatari woman dies of swine flu

A Qatari woman has succumbed to illness after contracting the fatal H1N1 virus in early October, a senior medical official announced here on Saturday.
The woman, 26 years was in her 29th week into pregnancy when she was admitted to the intensive care unit of Hamad Hospital on October 10, Director of the Public Health Department of the Supreme Council of Health disease Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Al-Thani said. “She was suffering from high temperature and acute breathing difficulties and was diagnosed with swine flu,” he affirmed.
“As the victim was 29-week pregnant with twins, the medical teams of the hospital managed to rescue the two babies,” Dr. Sheikh Mohammad said, noting that the two twins are under medical observation now. (KUNA)
