Syrian duo, Egyptian swindle KD 3mln
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Police have arrested two Syrians and an Egyptian for taking advantage of the bad financial condition of scores of Kuwaitis and expatriates and causing them losses of more than KD 3 million, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to police investigations the trio took advantage of the financial condition of the victims, lent money to them and when they failed to pay in time they purchased from them electronic items and cars at a very low price under threat.
Acting on information and armed with a warrant, police then raided the home of the Syrians in Farwaniya and their Egyptian partner and a store and seized a large quantity of electronic items.
It has also been reported the Egyptian was wanted by law to serve a five-year sentence in connection with a financial fraud.
Asian beaten, robbed: Police are looking for eight unidentified people riding in a Jeep for forcing an Asian man to pull over while driving along a road in Ahmadi and robbing him, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added the victim works for the home delivery section of a restaurant. The men allegedly beat him, stole the food and robbed him of KD 106 and a cell phone.
A case has been registered at the Ahmadi Police Station.
Brother-in-law bashed: A Kuwaiti man has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing his three brothers-in-law of beating him, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
This happened when the man, with permission of his wife arrived at the home of his ex-wife to visit his children.
The ex-wife and her three brothers have been summoned for interrogation.
