Translation License

I am working in the government sector. I can handle translation (Arabic-English and vice versa) well. Is it possible to get a license for translation to start a translation centre? Or is it issued only to Kuwaitis?

Name withheld

Answer:
You can obtain a license to be an authorized translator but you have to appear in examinations at the Ministry of Justice. You cannot, however, open an office because the commercial law in Kuwait bans foreigners from starting business under their own names. There should be a Kuwaiti sponsor for the office.

resign & start businessSrivi | 10/16/2010 11:13:58 AM working in govt sector, starting new business, not allowed. first resign, then start new business. or start in relative name.
first learn proceduresSrivi | 10/16/2010 9:24:12 AM First learn official formalities and procedures. complete basic training in translation centre business and fundamentals. It is not like just opening centre. maintaining basic procedures and formalities is important. Which form should be used, for which purpose ? which form to type, for what type of complaint ? Basic translations knowledge is different from practical procedures and govt formalities. Better join as a partner first and then open new. currently, not much scope of business, less income than last years.
