Huge quantity of liquor seized as Kuwaiti, bedoun traffickers held
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: In two separate incidents the Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested two men, a bedoun and a Kuwaiti, for trafficking in drugs and booze, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In the first incident police took into custody the bedoun.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on a tip-off sent a secret agent to buy a bottle of whisky from the man and caught him red-handed.
During interrogation the man admitted to the charge and led police to his apartment where he had hidden the contraband. From his home police are said to have seized 119 bottles of whisky and a quantity of drug pills.
The Kuwaiti was arrested after police received information about his illegal activities.
He was caught while selling booze to a police in a suburb of Al-Hassan.
Police have seized from him 32 bottles of imported alcohol.
Both men have been referred to the authorities.
Meanwhile, Jahra traffic police, in cooperation with Technical Inspection Department officials, launched a campaign in Amghara scrap area and impounded 12 vehicles. They also issued 300 citations to traffic rule violators, those with expired driving licenses and registration books, for sticking posters on vehicles and other offenses.
Indian absconding: Police are looking for an unidentified Indian man who reportedly rented a car and failed to return it on time, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In his complaint to the Abu Halifah Police Station an Egyptian employee of the car renting office said the man rented the car but has failed to return it.
The man also said the man could not be contacted on his cell phone.
Stealing shaving kits: Two bedoun you-ths whose identities have not been disclosed have been arrested by police for stealing shaving kits from an unidentified shopping center in Shuwaikh, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to reports the suspects were arrested by the guards of the center and handed over to police.
Cattle stolen: Police are looking for three unidentified persons who allegedly broke into an animal pen in Amghara and stole 19 heads of cattle after threatening to kill the guard, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In his complaint to the police the owner of the pen said the suspects were armed and they threatened to kill the guard if he raised an alarm.
Students in fight: Police have taken into custody some students of the Al-Shihab School in Sulaibikhat, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the students were involved in a bloody fight. It was free for all and they used everything they could lay their hands on to attack each other.
Two students who were injured — one with a broken nose and the other a cut on his hand — have been admitted to the area hospital.
Indian’s car stolen: Police are looking for three people for beating an Indian man and stealing his car, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the Indian was driving along a road and one of the three men said he had a flat tyre. When the man stopped to check the car, the three men beat him and escaped in his car.
The description of the car and the men has been relayed to all checkpoints.
