Six baton-wielding Pakistanis detained for way-laying passers-by The Sobbing thief
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: The Hawalli police have arrested six Pakistanis for robbing passers-by in Salmiya, reports Al-Dar daily.
It has been reported the suspects were caught by surprise by a police patrol because they were carrying batons. Police also discovered they were carrying knives so they were arrested and taken to a police station.
At the police station, the men admitted to robbing expatriates. They have been referred to the authorities.
Car thieves nabbed: Police have arrested six Kuwaiti youths all believed to be in their 20s for stealing luxurious cars from unsuspecting victims, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to the complaints received by the police, the victims left their cars in operation and either went to withdraw money or paid short visits to shops in commercial areas and to cooperatives societies. All the thefts occurred in Ahmadi.
Acting on information police set a trap for the suspects and caught the gang in the act while attempting to break into a parked car.
During interrogation, the thieves are said to have admitted to dismantling the vehicles and selling the spare parts.
Sobbing thief: Police have taken into custody an unidentified housemaid for allegedly stealing the jewelry of her female sponsor, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to reports the suspect told her sponsor her mother was ill and had to leave the country.
It has been reported the maid kept crying bitterly and overcome with sympathy the sponsor asked her husband to book the ticket for the maid to allow her to go ‘home’.
As the husband was driving the maid to the airport, he received a call from his wife saying her jewelry was missing.
Instead of heading for the airport, the husband made a U-turn took the maid to a police station. The jewelry was found hidden in the baggage.
