Indian stabbed in failed mugging attempt
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: A 25-year-old Indian suffered from injuries after an unidentified person stabbed him in the abdomen while he was walking in Ahmadi recently.
According to the Indian, the suspect tried to rob him but when his attempt was foiled; he stabbed him in the abdomen and escaped to an unknown destination.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information on the incident. They referred the Indian to Ahmadi Clinic but he was later transferred to Adan Hospital because his condition got worse.
A case was registered and investigations are in progress to arrest the suspect.
Grocer stabbed, robbed: Two armed robbers stormed into a grocery shop on Salem Al-Mubarak Street in Salmiya, stabbed the Iranian shopkeeper on the neck and head, and escaped with KD 200 and prepaid mobile cards, say sources.
Securitymen and CID officers, acting on information, rushed to the scene and started investigations.
Director of Hawalli Investigations Department Colonel Abdul-Rahman Al-Suhail led the investigations and sources say five suspects have so far been arrested.
Corpse found: Coast Guard officers on Friday found a corpse — believed to be an Asian — floating in the sea in Watya opposite Shuwaikh Port.
The officers referred the body to Forensics to determine the actual cause of death. A case was registered at Sharq Police Station and investigations are ongoing to identify the body.
Police probe death, whereabouts: Police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman who was admitted to Jahra Hospital on Sept 29 and later died due to deterioration in her health, reports Al-Anba daily. The woman was not carrying any identification documents and nobody knows who referred her to hospital.
Man drowns at sea: The remains of an unidentified person who drowned in Shuwaikh beach were referred to Forensics, reports Al-Anba daily.
The Operations Room of the Interior Ministry reportedly received information that a man went swimming in the sea and did not return. Coastguards immediately launched a search operation and found the victim’s corpse floating near Al-Seif Palace.
Girl jumps from car: A Kuwaiti man filed a missing person’s report on his 18-year-old daughter, reports Al-Anba daily.
The man told police that when the entire family was traveling in the car, the girl went into a fit of rage and attempted to jump from the car. He added that he slowed the car so that the girl doesn’t get seriously injured.
The girl was reportedly suffering from psychological problems and disappeared after jumping on the Sixth Ring Road.
A police source said another Kuwaiti man found the girl five kilometers away from the family’s car and notified police who rushed to the place and handed over the girl to her family.
Wanted fraudster arrested: Criminal Investigation Department officials arrested an elderly Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law for serving a nine-year jail term in several fraud and betrayal of trust cases, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police source said the suspect, who is in his 70s, used to take cars on rent from rental offices and did not return them. He also used to sell shops and houses that did not belong to him and escaped after taking advance payment from his victims.
It is reported that more than 30 travel bans were imposed on the suspect.
