Mandoub arrested for forgery

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: Securitymen arrested an Egyptian company representative (mandoub) for forging the signature of his sponsor and trading in visas.

The suspect, with the help of a Bangladeshi expatriate, got 19 visas issued and allegedly charged a sum ranging between KD 500-700 per each visa.

The Egyptian went to the department following up position of illegal residents to file reports against three absconding workers.

When an officer at the department said he has to get his sponsor’s signature on the documents, he reportedly went out of the office for a few minutes and came back with the signatures. This raised suspicions and the department Manager Najm Al-Khadr got him arrested.

During investigations, the suspect confessed that his sponsor was abroad and that he forged the latter’s signature to save time. He also admitted that he forged his sponsor’s signatures on 19 visas.

The suspect’s sponsor owned three companies and was not aware of the mandoub’s activities. He was referred to Public Prosecution and a case of forgery was filed against him.
