Kuwaiti woman of Syrian origin visa trader arrested 600 visas sold for KD 1,200 each
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Officers from the General Immigration Investigation Department, headed by Major General Abdullah Al-Rashed, recently arrested a Kuwaiti woman of Syrian origin for trading in visas.
Acting on information about a Kuwaiti woman selling visas under bogus companies, Al-Rashed immediately formed a team of officers to put the suspect under surveillance. The team later discovered the suspect sold 600 visas under 35 illusory companies for KD 1,200 each. After gathering enough evidence, the team arrested the suspect and referred her to the Public Prosecution for the necessary legal action.
It has been reported the concerned authorities have closed the workers’ files and procedures are currently being taken for their immediate deportation.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted the crime and told police that an Arab woman is also working for her as a ‘mandoub’ (company representative).
A case was registered and police are now looking for the Arab woman.
Residence violators arrested: Police have arrested 13 people for violating labor and residence laws and referred them to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the suspects — nine Indians, two Syrians and two bedoun — were caught selling water, juices and eatables at the Jaber International Stadium.
Some of those arrested failed to produce their IDs and the others are reportedly staying illegally in the country.
Arrested for ‘abusing’ govt: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man for using abusive language against the government when he was at the Ahmadi Cooperative Society, reports Al-Shahed daily.
When senior officials of the co-op called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior, securitymen rushed to the spot and arrested the man and referred him to the State Security police.
Hunt on for kidnappers: Pol-ice are looking for four out of the 10 Bangladeshis including their boss, identified only as Mammon, for kidnapping two Filipino women, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to security sources a Filipino woman told the police, the men broke into her apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and escaped with her friends.
Investigations conducted by securitymen led to the arrest of six men of the gang and freed one of the kidnapped women.
The daily did not give more details.
Husband accused of stealing: A Kuwaiti woman has filed a complaint with the Fintas police accusing her husband of stealing her jewelry worth KD 3,000, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The wife said she based her complaint on the testimony of the building guard who saw the man leaving with a box in his hands. The husband will be summoned for interrogation.
Gunshots heard in area: The Ahmadi police rushed to Aqila and Fintas after unidentified persons reported hearing gunshots in the area, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior dispatched a police force to investigate the incident but found no one.
However, it has been reported the gunshots might have come from a wedding celebration in the area.
Pakistani woman robbed: Police are looking for two unidentified persons for snatching the handbag of a Pakistani woman. This happened when she was walking along a street in Keifan, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In her complaint the woman said the two men threatened to kill her and escaped with the bag containing money, cell phone and identification documents.
