Customs foil couple’s bid to smuggle out 14 gold bars KD 10,000 jewelry, KD 5k stolen

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: Customs officers at the Salmi border post recently have foiled an attempt by an Arab man to smuggle out of the country 14 gold bars, reports Al-Rai daily.
The gold was hidden in the handbag of his Arab wife. The couple was on their way to their home country. Police referred them for interrogation.

Tools worth KD 800 stolen: A Ku-waiti, in his 50s, filed a complaint Saturday at Kabad Police Station against unidentified persons, who allegedly stole metal and construction tools worth KD 800 from his livestock pen, which is currently under construction.
The Kuwaiti told police he was surprised when he went to the construction site to check on the progress of the work, because he noticed a large number of construction tools and materials were missing. 
The Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits and investigations are underway to arrest them.

Stolen items worth KD 300 seized: Securitymen arrested an Asian expatriate in possession of stolen gold items worth KD 300 in Kabad area on Saturday.
Patrols on routine duty had stopped the Asian who was walking on a street at a very late hour and when they asked about the source of the gold items, he reportedly became nervous. This prompted securitymen to check records and they found that an absconding case was filed against him by his sponsor.
The Asian was referred to authorities.

Stolen motorbike seized: Police arrested a 24-year-old Kuwaiti for riding a stolen motorbike on the Gulf Road Saturday. The suspect reportedly looked nervous at a police checkpoint and this led policemen to check records and they came to know that the vehicle was reported stolen last month by its owner in Reggai.
He was arrested and referred to authorities.

Man held for KD 4,800 fraud:  The Hawalli police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who was wanted by law in connection with a financial fraud worth KD 4,800, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspect was taken into custody at a police checkpoint in Salmiya.

KD 10,000 jewelry, KD 5k stolen: Police are looking for burglars who broke into a shop in Farwaniya and escaped with five laptop computers and KD 1,500, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
In another unrelated incident, a burglar broke into a Kuwaiti man’s house in Jahra and escaped with jewelry worth KD 10,000 and KD 5,000 cash, reports Al-Rai daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department lifted fingerprints from both scenes and investigations are going on.

Doctor’s stamp stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing the stamp of a female doctor working for a polyclinic in the Mubarak Al-Kabir area, reports Al-Rai daily.
The patient took advantage when the doctor was busy examining another patient and escaped with the stamp.

Photo studio broken into: Police are looking for unidentified burglars who broke into a studio in Farwaniya and escaped with KD 500 cash, a camera worth KD 400 and computer monitor, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
