Apply for retirement before Sept 23 ‘KAC will not end services’
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: The Chairperson of Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) Hamad Al-Falah announced Friday that workers who wish to retire from KAC may apply before Friday Sept 23, 2010, reports Alam Al-Yawm daily.
Al-Falah noted an estimated 900 workers meet the prerequisite for retirement but KAC will not end the services of workers it needs, even if they qualify. He cited the workers whose services are needed in the aircraft.
He went on saying that KAC will offer incentives and other benefits to the workers to keep them until it has been converted to a private firm. It is noteworthy Lawyer Abdulhamid Al-Sarraf is responsible to manage and follow-up the transition of KAC, with the help of concerned counselors.
In the meantime, KAC will forward the list of names of retirees to the Ministry of Finance to disburse their allowances, in coordination with the Public Investment Authority, Al-Falah indicated.
