4 deported Asians bid to enter Kuwait on forged docus foiled Illegitimate baby’s ‘dad’ released on KD100 bail KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: Immigration officers at the Kuwait International Airport have foiled attempts by four Bangladeshis to enter the country on forged passports, reports Al-Shahed daily. The men have been referred to the authorities. According to security sources the Bangladeshis were earlier deported from the country and banned from entering for committing serious offences.
‘Dad’ gets bail: The Public Prosecution of Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate released on KD 100 bail a Kuwaiti man who allegedly asked a compatriot woman to kill their newborn baby. The Kuwaiti, who works in the military, allegedly had an illegitimate affair with the woman and when the latter gave birth to a baby out of wedlock, he asked her to get rid of the child. The woman had dumped the newborn in a garbage container. The woman’s Asian maid found the baby and notified police. Sources say the woman is still under arrest pending investigations.
Arrest after 4 yrs: Securitymen on Wednesday arrested an Asian man, in his 40s, who is wanted by law for an absconding case filed against him by his sponsor four years ago. While on duty in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, the securitymen got suspicious of the movement of an Asian man walking in the area late at night, so they stopped him for inspection. When they asked for his identification documents, the Asian failed to present anything, prompting the officers to refer him to the police station. Upon checking the Asian’s records at the station, the security officers discovered he is wanted by law for escaping from his sponsor four years ago. He was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Man hurt in fall: A 46-year-old Kuwaiti man sustained fractures in ribs and foot when he fell down from a house under construction in Abdullah Al-Mubarak area Wednesday evening. When the Operations Room received information about the accident, it dispatched securitymen and paramedics to the scene and the victim was immediately rushed to Farwaniya Hospital.
3 cell phones stolen: A Ku-waiti man filed a complaint at Farwaniya Police Station Wednesday against unidentified persons who stole three mobile phones from his car. According to the Kuwaiti, he went to a commercial complex in the area to shop but he was surprised when he went out as he found the window of his car broken and his three mobile phones were missing. Criminal Evidence Department personnel lifted fingerprints from the car to identify the thieves.
Man injured in fight: A 44-year-old Kuwaiti suffered from multiple injuries after engaging in a public brawl with three compatriots in Salmiya Wednesday. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after receiving information on the incident. When they arrived at the scene, the rescue officers found the Kuwaiti writhing in pain as he sustained injuries in his head and other parts of his body. He was taken to Amiri Hospital, while the three other Kuwaitis were referred to a police station for interrogation.
Woman suffers asphyxiation: Fire broke out in a house in Rehab Tuesday, causing shortness of breath to the owner - a 47-year-old Kuwaiti woman. Securitymen, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room received information on the incident. After evacuating the house, the firemen doused the fire in record time, while the paramedics provided on-the-spot treatment to the owner, who had difficulty in breathing as the house was covered with thick smoke. Initial investigations revealed the cause of fire was electric short circuit. No other casualties or injuries were reported. In an unrelated incident, fire engulfed an apartment in Farwaniya on the same day. It has been reported one of the tenants - a Syrian - was rushed to Farwaniya Hospital as he sustained injuries in his feet while trying to extinguish the fire. Firefighters put the fire under control before it spread to other apartments in the building. Investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of fire.
Water poured on woman: An Arab woman lodged a complaint at Farwaniya Police Station Wednesday against some Kuwaiti men, who allegedly harassed her and poured water on her. The complainant told police the Kuwaitis tried to give her their telephone numbers but when she refused, they poured water on her and fled from the scene. Luckily, she recorded the plate number of their vehicle. She also provided police with a detailed description of the suspects. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to verify the woman’s claim.
2 held for thefts: Securi-tymen arrested two Kuwaiti teenagers, 17 and 18 years old respectively, for stealing the vehicle of a compatriot in Sulaibikhat Wednesday. Security sources revealed the two sons of the owner of the vehicle, after finding out that their father’s car was stolen, looked for the vehicle the whole day until they saw it with two teenagers standing near it. The sons then approached the teenagers and asked them about the car, which was used by the suspects to perform stunts on the road. The sons referred one of the teenagers to Sulaibikhat Police Station, as the other managed to flee from the scene. Police quickly combed the area until they arrested the other suspect. During interrogation, the two teenagers admitted the crime and told police that they have also stolen laptops. The officers later discovered the teenagers were involved in eight theft cases.
Egyptian robbed: The Jahra police are looking for two unidentified people for robbing expatriates. Their last victim was an Egyptian pedestrian from whom they are said to have robbed KD 80 and a cell phone, reports Alam Alyawm daily. In his complaint to the Jahra police the man said he was waylaid by two men wearing dishdasha. He added the men said they were police and showed forged IDs. The incident happened when the Egyptian was on his way to the Free Zone. The descriptions of the two men have been circulated among police patrols and at checkpoints.
