Police seize 50,000 drug pills from home of MoD ex-staffer Woman arrested in KD 6,000 financial case; Afghan held with drugs KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15: A Kuwaiti woman was arrested by security forces for her involvement in a KD 6,000 financial case at a checkpoint on the Arabian Gulf Street.
The woman is said to have become confused as she approached the checkpoint, which prompted the officers to check her details, and she was referred to the authority for further investigation, immediately after the officers discovered the case.
Drugs seized from prison: Central Jail securitymen launched a surprise inspection campaign Tuesday, resulting in the confiscation of two narcotic pills, a roll of hashish, mobile phones and prepaid cards.
Acting on information that some inmates have obtained the forbidden items, the securitymen immediately inspected the prison cells, which led to the discovery of the abovementioned items. The concerned inmates were then referred for investigation to determine who smuggled the items into the prison.
Indian commits suicide: A 64-year old Indian expatriate hanged himself with a rope tied to the ceiling of a room in Salmiya area. According to sources, the victim was suffering from psychological problem, which might have prompted him to take his life.
Security sources noted a friend of the victim who arrived at the scene had called to report the incident. The corpse has since been referred to the Forensics for autopsy.
Jet ski hits Egyptian: A 31-year old Egyptian expatriate was injured, when he was hit by a jet ski at the beach opposite Shaab. Paramedics were deployed to the scene to carry the man to the Amiri Hospital, after the Operations Room was notified in that regard.
4 fingers cut in machine: An Indian expatriate became unconscious after losing four fingers on his left hand in a machine he was using to cut meat in Umm Al-Haiman area.
Paramedics rushed to the location to carry the man to the Adan Hospital for medical care, following a distress call passersby had placed to the Operations Room. The case was registered.
4 mug Egyptian, KD 80 stolen: An Egyptian expatriate in his 40s filed a case with police officers in Jahra against three youths who attacked and took KD 80 by force.
The man narrated he was walking by the road when the youths pulled over and threaten to stab him if he refused to bring out his wallet. They went ahead and beat him and later took the money. Police have taken their description and circulated at checkpoints for their arrest.
18-year-old held for alcohol use: Police arrested an 18-year-old Kuwaiti for consuming alcohol along Wafra Motorway Tuesday.
While patrolling the area, the officers noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver to stop for inspection. When they approached the vehicle, the officers discovered the driver — a Kuwaiti youth — was under the influence of alcohol. They referred him to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
Man found unconscious: An unidentified man, who was clad in ‘disdasha’ (national dress), was found lying unconscious inside a vehicle parked in front of famous commercial complex in Hawally Tuesday.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior received information on the incident. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered the man was conscious but under the influence of drugs. He was taken to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital and the security officers are waiting for his condition to get better before starting investigations.

50,000 drug pills seized: The Jahra police have arrested a former employee of the Ministry of Defence for trafficking in narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspect was caught red-handed while selling 100 narcotic pills to a police agent, says the daily.
Armed with a search and arrest warrant police then raided his home and seized 50,000 pills.
The contraband and the trafficker have been referred to the authorities.
Drug smuggling bid foiled: Police have arrested an Afghan man, identified only as Asseel, for attempting to smuggle heroin into the country, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to reports the man who arrived aboard an aircraft refused to take meals or drinks during his entire journey.
When police failed to find anything in the man’s baggage, they referred him to a hospital and an X-ray showed small objects in his belly. He was given a laxative and he reportedly purged 65 capsules containing heroin.
During interrogation the man said this was his maiden trip to Kuwait. He also told interrogators he was just a carrier and that he was to hand over the drugs to an unidentified person for a sum of money.
The contraband and the smuggler have been referred to the authorities.
Young women held for alcohol: The Rumaithiya police have arrested two young Iranian women for drinking alcohol, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The women were riding in a car and when they saw police approaching, they reportedly stopped the car and tried in vain to escape on foot.
The women have been detained at a police station.
