Police raids in Farwaniya net 75 ‘pleasure’ seekers & providers Maid suffers fractures in bid to escape from sponsor’s home KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: An African housemaid suffered fractures and various other injuries while trying to escape from her sponsor’s second-floor house in Naim area.
Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and found that the maid had suffered serious injuries on the head, besides several fractures. Paramedics rushed her to Jahra Hospital for treatment.
The maid said her sponsor was ill-treating her and so, she wanted to escape from the place.
Meanwhile, an Asian housemaid tried in vain to escape from the first-floor house of her sponsor in Thaher area. She fractured her legs in the process and had to be referred to Adan Hospital for treatment. A case was registered.
The Farwaniya police during a raid on several apartments in the area are said to have arrested 75 people — pimps, prostitutes and persons who had gone to seek pleasure of the flesh, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Fugitive arrested: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who had been sentenced in absentia for 15 years imprisonment for committing several thefts, reports Al-Anba daily.
It has been reported police rushed to an unidentified location when a citizen informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior that a stranger had entered his house.
He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Wanted man nabbed: Jahra securitymen arrested a man who was wanted by law to serve a 20-year imprisonment term.
Patrols on routine duty noticed a man trying to fix his vehicle which broke down in Taima area and went to assist him. The man, however, got nervous and said he can manage on his own. One of the officers then asked for his ID card and on checking records, discovered that he was wanted by law.
Patrols duly arrested the man and referred him to authorities.
Kuwaiti gets reprieve: The Criminal Court refrained from passing a sentence against a Kuwaiti citizen who had been charged with consuming alcohol and drugs, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
However, the court ordered the man to pay KD 200 and sign a pledge of good conduct for one year.
The daily added the accused was arrested after the mother complained to the police that her son was consuming alcohol and drugs.
Youths assault policeman: Police have arrested two youths and are looking for about thirteen other youths for assaulting a policeman, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
This happened when police rushed to the Bilajat Street after receiving information that two gangs of youths were involved in a fight.
However, the youths reportedly turned on the policeman and beat him mercilessly and escaped from the scene.
The arrested youths have been referred to a police station.
Syrian dies in accident: A Syrian man died in a tragic road accident at a roundabout in Wafra. He died on the spot after he was hit by speeding reckless youngster, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to a police source the victim was cut in half by the young ‘stuntman’.
The ‘killer’ has been referred to the authorities.
Maid hangs self: A Nepali housemaid is said to have ended her life by hanging herself with a rope inside the compound wall of her sponsor’s home in Al-Zahr, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to security sources the maid tied one end of the rope to a swing and the other to her neck.
The corpse of the maid has been referred to Forensics. Police are investigating the death.
Police ram into expat’s car: An unidentified female expatriate has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital with serious injuries. She was injured after a police patrol car rammed into her vehicle, reports Al-Rai daily.
Meanwhile, the daily quoting reliable sources said the police have arrested the victim’s brothers when they went to visit their sister.
They are charged with humiliating and insulting police on duty.
Expat suffers fractures: An Asian expatriate suffered fractures in the ribs and various other places when he fell from a great height while working at a company in Sabhan area.
Acting on information, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the scene and referred the victim to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment.
4 youngsters arrested: Pol-ice have arrested four youngsters — two Kuwaitis and two bedoun — for consuming alcohol and insulting and beating a Coast Guard officer, reports Al-Anba daily.
This happened when the officer prevented the youths from entering a ‘No Entry’ zone at the Ahmadi Refinery.
The officer has filed a complaint at a police station.
Life sentence upheld: The Court of Appeals recently upheld the verdict of a lower court and sentenced a Bangladeshi to life imprisonment to be followed by deportation for trafficking in heroin and hashish, reports Al-Dar daily.
Case papers indicate the accused was caught red-handed while selling drugs worth KD 100 to a police agent.
Kuwaiti files complaint: A Kuwaiti man, 32, registered a case at Abdullah Mubarak Police Station accusing two Kuwaiti brothers of threatening to murder him on Monday.
The complainant and the brothers had several quarrels in the past and on Monday, after yet another quarrel, the brothers allegedly called him on his mobile phone and issued the threat.
Securitymen noted down all details of the brothers and will summon them for interrogation.
Police apprehend expat: Police officers apprehended an Asian expatriate in possession of four bottles of imported liquor and two bottles of locally brewed gin in Hasawi. Security sources said the officers were on routine patrol late at night when they spotted the suspect inside his vehicle and requested him to stop for checking.
They found the contraband after a thorough search the carried out inside the car, so the suspect was referred to the concerned authority.
