MEXICO CITY, Sept 14, (KUNA): Representing His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah arrived here on an official visit to Mexico to attend the country’s independence and constitution celebrations. Upon arrival at Mexico International Airport, the premier said he would convey greetings and congratulations from HH the Amir and HH the Crown Prince to Mexican President Felipe de Jesus Calderon on the occasion. He appreciated the great role of Mexico in supporting Kuwait’s rights during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. He said his country is willing to further develop and promote its relations with its friendly countries, noting that Kuwait and Mexico have maintained close relations in many fields for long years. In this context, he announced that a Kuwaiti embassy would be opened in Mexico City within coming months.

He stressed the significance of maintaining such distinguished relations between both countries, and of working together for opening fresh vistas of cooperation with other world countries as well as having concerted views and positions on various economic and political areas. To boost up such an end, ties and bonds with different world countries need to be deepened so that their successful economic experiments could be drawn upon, the Kuwaiti premier said. He hailed Mexico for having varied economic and natural sources and adopting fruitful policies in foreign investment attraction. While flying to Mexico, Sheikh Nasser stopped in the capital of Bermuda, Hamilton, where he met its Prime Minister Ewart Brown on bilateral relations in all fields. Brown said he was happy to meet the Kuwaiti prime minister.
