KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: There were lots of mouthwatering clashes, full of neatly-placed drop shots and smashes, in the 4th week of the 17th Conference “5th Toyo Tires Cup”, but amidst all the excitement and the really tough matches McDonalds-Kuwait continued their reign on top of the standings with 190 wins and 544 points at Fahaheel Sports Center, Friday. These quality games are being produced by the Filipino Badminton Association in Ahmadi (FBAA) headed by President Ronald Margate and his committed group of office bearers who are always that the tournaments run smoothly.

Men’s A
In Men’s A, Worley Parsons B scored a 3-1 win but were tied on 6 points with Worley Parsons A after Sherwin Felizardo and Bon Elamparo edged Joenel Seva and Jong Rimando 14-16, 15-7, 15-11, Ron Margate and Tony Osea outlasted Rommel Carlos and Edward Pascual in a seesaw battle 15-8, 7-15, 15-8 and the tandem of Sherwin and Tony pressed on the accelerator in the last 2 sets against Joenel and Edward to win 11-15, 15-13, 15-13.
Worley Parsons A did not go home empty handed when Jong and Rommel overcame Bon and Ron in 2 extended sets 15-12, 17-15.
Western Union completed a 3-1 win and collected 7-5 points against McDonalds B as Gerry Aguilar and Emil Millanar edged Sonny Cajipe and Gerry Labagnoy 15-7, 17-19, 15-12, while Norman Abad and Emil were made to sweat before they could outlast Ed Antonio and Sonny 12-15, 15-8, 18-16 and one of the matches was won by default.
McDonalds B managed a single victory when Rowx Bugas and Gerry Labagnoy thumped Carlo Bornilla and Gerry Aguilar in 2 easy sets 15-7, 15-11.
Toyo Tires gained tied on 2 wins and 7-5 points against McDonalds A as Allan Bondoc and Francis Enriquez overcame Joms tantiangco and Dave Laguio 15-10, 16-14 and one of the matches was won by default.
On the other hand, Mc Donalds A bounced back through Albert Marcelo and Joms Tantiangco when they tamed Zahid and Allan Bondoc 15-10, 15-6 while Albert paired with Philip Marimla outlasted Zahid and JP Parayno 15-6, 10-15, 15-7.

Later that day, McDonalds kept the driver’s seat with 24 wins and 70 points including a landslide 4-0 victory against Mc Donalds B with 11-1 points after Albert and Joms thrashed Rowx and Ed 15-8, 15-6, while Dave and Philip hammered Sonny and Gerry 15-10, 15-11, Albert and Philip outlasted Rowx and Gerry 11-15, 15-10, 15-11 and the tandem Joms and Dave overcame Ed and Sonny 15-11, 16-14.
Toyo Tires pulled together a 3-1 win and 7-5 points against Worley Parsons A after Zahid and Allan edged Joenel and Jong in a seesaw battle 15-12, 16-18, 15-12, Francis and JP overwhelmed Rommel and Edward in back to back sets 15-12, 15-12 and Allan with Francis outlasted Jong and Rommel 10-15, 15-10, 15-11.
Worley Parsons A won one game when Joenel and Edward tamed Zahid and JP 19-18, 15-10.
Worley Parsons B collected a 3-1 win and 8-4 points against Western Union as Sherwin and Bon edged Carlo and Norman 7-15, 15-12, 19-17, while Ron and Tony crushed Gerry and Emil 15-13, 15-11 and Sherwin with Tony outlasted Carlo and Emil 15-8, 14-16, 17-15.

Men’s B category saw Worley Parsons level on 2 wins with Toyo Tires B but generate 7-5 points after Marvin de Luna and Adrian Simeon thrashed Rio Ferrer and Arjay Lesaca in back to back sets 15-6, 15-6 while Marvin with Tony Elamparo overcame Rio and Friday Viernes 15-7, 19-17.
Toyo Tires B retaliated through Arjay and Lala Tan when they edged Adrian and Tim Torres 10-15, 15-8, 15-13 while one of the matches was won by default.
Western Union A gathered a 3-1 win and 7-5 points against McDonalds when Roy Francisco and Cesar Isidro edged Arnie Manuel and Roma Valdez 9-15, 15-11, 15-13, while July Espiritu and Cesar outlasted Ryan Aguilar and Roma 13-15, 15-7, 15-11 and the tandem of July and Roy brushed aside Kenjie Corpuz and Arnie Manuel in back to back sets 16-14, 16-14. Meanwhile, Mc Donald’s won one of the matches by default.

Toyo Tires pulled off a landslide 4-0 victory over Western Union B as Janette Rimando and Gene Aniversario edged Arnold Miclat and Mokbul Hussain 15-17, 15-11, 15-8, Anthony Valdez and Maricel Romano outlasted Joel Marasigan and Aileen Perez 15-8, 11-15, 15-9, Janette and Maricel wasted no effort to beat 15-11, 15-8 and one of the games was won by default.
Later that day, Worley Parsons stayed on top in Men’s B with 20 wins and 61 points when they collected a 3-1 win and 9-3 points against Western Union B after Marvin and Adrian thumped Arnold and Mokbul 15-9, 15-12, Marvin and Tony edged Arnold and Aileen 11-15, 17-15, 15-7 and one of the games was won by default.

Western Union B did not go home empty handed when Joel and Aileen outlasted Tim and Tony 15-8, 13-15, 15-12.
Toyo Tires collected 2 wins and 8-4 points against Mc Donalds as Anthony and Maricel overcame Arnie and Roma 18-16, 19-17 while Gene and Anthony brushed aside 15-12, 16-14.
McDonalds gained their wins when Ryan and Kenjie edged Janette and Gene 11-15, 15-10, 16-14 and the tandem of Ryan and Roma outlasted Janette and Maricel 8-15, 15-10, 15-10.
Toyo Tires B walked home with a 3-1 win and 9-3 points against Western Union A after Lala and Friday edged Roy and Cesar 14-16, 15-12, 15-13, Rio and Friday hammered Arnel and Cesar 15-13, 15-12 and one of the matches was won default.

In Men’s C, Toyo Tires A scored a 3-1 win and 7-5 points against Western Union A as Joepet Matias and Noel Enbon edged Aldrin Turalde 15-12, 15-17, 17-15, Joepet and Benedict Garcia thumped Aldrin and Sang Pagdanganan 15-10, 15-11 and Noel with Rochelle outlasted Dhanagopal and Mathew Ooman 11-15, 15-12, 15-12.
Western Union A triumphed when Sang and Mathew overwhelmed Benedict and Rochelle in back to back sets 15-13, 15-13.
McDonald’s A pulled together a landslide 4-0 victory over Worley Parsons A with 12-0 points after James Blaz and Majed Abdul Aziz tamed Keisha Stecky and Glenn Piliotas 15-11, 15-13, Cesar Castro and Claire Agsao hammered Franklin Montesclaros and Roger Estinozo 15-11, 15-10, James and Cesar overpowered Keisha and Franklin 16-14, 15-11 and Majed with Claire thumped Glenn and Roger 16-14, 15-10.

Mc Donalds B did not go home empty handed when Mark and Alvin Godoy edged Kevin and Ome in a seesaw battle 15-13, 12-15, 16-14.
Later in the afternoon, Worley Parsons B pulled off a 3-1 win and got 8-4 points against Western Union B with Raymond and Roman edging Joepet and Noel 11-15, 15-11, 15-10, while Eric and Melissa brushed aside Benedict and Rochelle 15-7, 15-13, and Roman and Eric hammered Noel and Benedict 15-10, 15-6.
Joepet and Rochelle scored for Western Union B when they thumped Raymond and Melissa 15-7, 15-12.
Toyo Tires B leveled on 2 wins against McDonalds A but acquired 7-5 points after Keisha and Glenn beat James and Majed 11-15, 15-13, 15-6, while Glenn and Franklin wasted no time and thrashed Majed and Castro 15-6, 15-12.

McDonalds A bounced back when Cesar and Claire outlasted Franklin and Roger 18-16, 13-15, 15-8, and James and Claire edged Roger and Keisha 18-16, 13-15, 15-8.

In Ladies A, Toyo Tires B generated a 3-1 win and 9-3 points against Worley Parsons as Vicky Nonog and Thess Herrera tamed Glorence Montesclaros and Yolanda Corre 5-2 after they retired due to injury, while Nihar Esmula and Cherry Hondunero wasted no effort to thrash Lei Abad and Veronica Garcia 15-2, 15-6 and one of the matches was won by default.
Worley Parsons won through Veronica and Yolanda as they hammered Cherry and Thess 15-10, 15-11.
Western Union leveled with McDonalds A on 2 wins and 6 points as Imee Castro and Mary Grace de Leon edged Jenny Tolentino and Keisha Ng 11-15, 15-13, 15-9 and the girl power of Jellica Espinosa and Gay Caedo tamed Ness and Lyn 15-11, 15-13.
