According to a security source, a domestic worker serving the suspect’s family discovered the dead baby, which was wrapped in a piece of cloth, as she dumped waste into the dustbin. So, she alerted the Operations Room immediately.
Meanwhile, acting on directives issued by the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Security Chief Brigadier Dulaih Al-Hajeri, rescue officers and paramedics arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, the officers conducted investigations among the domestic workers within the vicinity. In the course of interrogation, one of the workers revealed that her sponsor’s daughter had committed the crime, after she gave birth to the baby out of wedlock, and she was determined to get rid of it.
The suspect, who is a government employee, confessed the baby was a product of an illicit affair she had with a compatriot employee of the Defense Ministry. She claimed to have dumped the baby in the dustbin alive hoping that somebody would discover and rescue it.
The suspect is said to have become traumatized psychologically after the incident and complained that her lover induced her to get rid of the baby.
