Police nab citizen for committing financial fraud worth KD 83,000 Mother, 2 children perish in Salmi road accident KUWAIT CITY, Sep 8: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who is wanted by law for committing financial frauds worth KD 83,000, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources the man was arrested on suspicion because when he saw a police vehicle he slowed down and allowed the police patrol car to overtake his vehicle while driving along the coastal road off Ahmadi.
He has been referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
Mom, 2 children die: Three Kuwaitis – a 38-year-old mother, her 22-year-old son and daughter, 20, died in a road accident in Salmi, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
The mishap happened when they were on their way home after performing the minor pilgrimage - Umra - in Saudi Arabia.
It has been reported the vehicle overturned killing the mother on the spot. The children died after arriving at the hospital.
Passport page torn: An Egyptian worker has filed a complaint with the police accusing his Kuwaiti sponsor of tearing off the page from his passport, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The complaint has been filed at the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station. In his complaint the Egyptian said he was involved in an argument with the sponsor and the latter got angry and tore the page carrying the residence stamp.
However, it has also been reported when the police summoned the sponsor, he refused to come to the police station.
The case has now been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Iraqi held at border: Police have arrested an Iraqi man for attempting to infiltrate into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The Iraqi was caught in possession of an electronic device. Without giving more details the daily said the man has been referred to the concerned authorities for interrogation.
However, the man is said to have provided police the names of people he intended to visit in Kuwait.
Bulgarian dies: A 52-year-old Bulgarian died of heart attack, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
It has been reported the man died inside the Mina Ahmadi clinic. Without going into details the daily said the remains of the man have been referred to Forensics.
‘I’m penniless’: A Kuwaiti woman through the Al-Anba daily has appealed to HH the Prime Minister to help her overcome her financial difficulties, reports Al-Anba daily.
The woman, whose identity has not been given, said she owes the bank a loan and the bank takes all her salary. She added this has been going on for the past five years and now she is penniless.
The woman added even her 5-year-old daughter tried to commit suicide to end her misery.
Syrian inmate dies: A 30-year-old Syrian inmate is said to have died inside the Talha Prison, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The man’s remains have been referred to Forensics to identify the cause of death.
2 women injured: Two women who were injured in a traffic accident on the Arabian Gulf Street have been admitted to a hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
This happened when the woman behind the wheel lost control of her vehicle, mounted the footpath and crashed into a palm tree.
Fire to 2 cars put out: Acting on information firemen rushed to Salmiya and put out fire to car which was parked in front of a well-known commercial complex, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In another incident, firemen rushed to Al-Firdous and put out fire to another car. The cause of the fire is not known. However, no casualties have been reported.
