Asian man held for cheating ‘laundry’ owners of KD 5,000 Police arrest citizen for molesting 7-yr-old

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8: Securitymen on Wednesday arrested an Asian for swindling a number of laundry shop owners to the tune of KD5,000.
Disclosing the Asian has been committing the crime since 2001, security sources said the suspect entered the country on a forged passport. Sources revealed the suspect was arrested when the securitymen launched a surprise inspection campaign in Reggae.
During the campaign, the securitymen checked the identification cards of bus passengers. When they looked into the security records of the suspect, they found out he holds two passports and two civil identification cards. Several laundry shop owners also filed swindling cases against him.
After questioning the suspect, the securitymen found out he has been committing the crime since 2001. Preliminary investigations revealed the suspect used to negotiate with the laundry shop owners, offering a deal for him to manage the shops on their behalf.
However, the owners noticed something was amiss as he did not give them the agreed share of the profits under the pretext that the shops are not earning anything. When one owner discovers his modus operandi, he just disappears to dupe another.
Police then referred the Asian to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action. It has been reported he is one of the most elusive wanted criminals in the country.

Police arrest ‘molester’: Ahmadi securitymen arrested Wednesday a Kuwaiti for molesting a seven-year-old child.
While patrolling the area, a team of police officers noticed the confused state of a Kuwaiti when he approached a security checkpoint. Upon checking his security records, police discovered the Kuwaiti is wanted by law for molesting a seven-year-old child. He was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Youths held for ‘harassment’: Jahra securitymen arrested 14 youths for harassing families and women inside commercial complexes in the governorate Wednesday.
Acting on instructions from Jahra Security Directorate Director General Brigadier Mohammad Thanna, the securitymen intensified their efforts to inspect malls and commercial establishments in the governorate after receiving several complaints about some youths loitering in these areas, disturbing families and women.
The officers asked the youths to sign pledges of good conduct and urged them to refrain from the act to maintain peace and order in public places.

Two held for criminal cases: Securitymen arrested two Kuwaitis wanted by law for their involvement in criminal and misdemeanor cases inside a famous commercial complex in Al-Rai Wednesday.
While on routine duty in the area, the securitymen noticed the confused state of two Kuwaitis, so they demanded for their identification cards. When police checked the security records of the two citizens, they found out they were involved in many criminal and misdemeanor cases. They were taken to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

MoI suspends ‘vacation’: The Ministry of Interior suspended the vacation of securitymen, rescue officers and traffic patrolmen as it needs their services to deal with the expected traffic congestion in the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holidays.
Sources said the ministry will also increase police presence in public areas, such as entertainment centers, malls and markets to ensure peace and order while Muslims celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Drugs, cellphones seized: Securitymen at the Central Jail launched an intensive inspection campaign Tuesday, resulting in the confiscation of several mobile phones, narcotic pills and hashish.
Acting on tip-off, the securitymen inspected the cells thoroughly, leading to the discovery of six mobile phones, some prepaid cards, 11 narcotic pills and a roll of hashish. Investigations are in progress to determine how the inmates got the forbidden items.
