Corpse found dumped in Qurain 4 injured in Qortuba fire KUWAIT CIY, Sept 7: A decomposed corpse was found in an open area near a leading market in Qurain Tuesday. Acting on information, securitymen rushed to the scene and after investigations, found out that the deceased was a Kuwaiti man involved in several cases.
The remains were referred to forensics to discover the cause and time of the Kuwaiti’s death, say sources, adding investigations are going on and police are trying to find the person who dumped the corpse.
4 hurt in fire: Two Kuwaiti women and two firefighters were asphyxiated in a fire that broke out in a house in Qortuba Tuesday.
Sources say firefighters entered the burning house and brought out all the occupants. Two women who had breathing problems were rushed to Amiri Hospital while firefighters doused the flames and prevented them from spreading to other houses.
Two firefighters were also asphyxiated during the operation and they were referred to Mubarak Hospital. Sources say an electric short-circuit caused the fire.
Kuwaiti hurt in fight: A Kuwaiti citizen, believed to be in his 30s, fractured his right hand and suffered injuries on his left shoulder during a fight with three other people near Kabad Cooperative Society Tuesday. Paramedics, who rushed to the scene on being notified, referred the Kuwaiti to Farwaniya Hospital. Sources say the other men involved in the fight escaped in their vehicles before securitymen could arrive.
A case was registered and investigations are going on.
Antique seller held: Police have arrested three men — a Kuwaiti and two expatriates — for attempting to sell an antique, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrest came after police received information from unidentified sources that two Arabs were offering to sell an antique for KD 5 million.
A police secret agent managed to meet the two Arabs who said they were working for a Kuwaiti man living in Ardhiya. Police arrested the man and seized from him the antique.
Man dies in accident: An Arab man died in a road accident in Wafra, reports Al-Rai daily.
It has been reported that the victim lost control of his car, hit the pavement and the car overturned causing his instantaneous death.
Fire put out: Firefighters from the Al-Qurain fire center have extinguished a fire in the home of a Kuwaiti family in Al-Qosour, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
According to eyewitness reports firemen exerted tremendous efforts to put out the fire and prevented it from spreading to other buildings.
No casualties were reported.
Vehicle catches fire: Fire engulfed a Jeep Monday on Jahra Motorway, opposite Qairawan, due to electric short circuit.
Securitymen, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room received information on the incident. Luckily, the owner of the vehicle got out immediately after noticing smoke emanating from the back part of the car, so there were no injuries or casualties reported. However, the vehicle was completely damaged.
1,150 dinars ‘stolen’: A Kuwaiti citizen has filed a case against a compatriot-who happens to be his partner in a commercial shop, for stealing 1,150 dinars from the shop.
According to the complainant, he believes the money was stolen by his partner, so officers have registered the case and his partner will be called for investigation.
Maid leaves with ‘goods’: A Kuwaiti filed a complaint at Abu Halifa Police Station against his housemaid, who allegedly stole expensive pens, wristwatches and some cash from his house in the area.
The Kuwaiti told police he was surprised to find some valuable items missing when he and his family returned home after shopping. He was suspicious after discovering the housemaid left without asking permission from him. He immediately reported the incident to police and provided the officers with a detailed description of the housemaid.
Police have started conducting investigations to find the housemaid and verify the complainant’s claim.
Thief arrested: Securitymen arrested a Bedoun and a GCC national, in their 20s, for stealing car spare parts in Amghara scrapyard Sunday.
After receiving several complaints on the loss of car spare parts in the area, the securitymen intensified their efforts to track down the thieves. During a massive inspection campaign Sunday, the securitymen caught a Bedoun and a GCC national in the act of stealing car spare parts at the scrapyard.
The thieves were referred to a nearby police station for questioning and other necessary legal action.
