5 youth seriously injured as two groups fight it out 2 detained in financial cases KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Twelve police patrols were dispatched to an unidentified location in Doha after an unidentified person called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior to say a group of youths were fighting, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Five of the youth who sustained serious injuries including fractures have been admitted to the Jahra Hospital.
According to reports when the victims were rushed to the hospital the youth gathered outside the hospital and challenged each other. However, police presence at the hospital prevented another fight.
Police investigations show a fray between two youth was the cause of the fight.
Women harassed, 12 held: Jahra securitymen arrested 12 youth for harassing women and families in several commercial complexes in the governorate.
As part of the ongoing campaign of the Jahra Security Directorate against youths disturbing other people in public areas, the securitymen intensified their efforts to maintain peace and order in these areas.
On Monday, the securitymen visited several commercial complexes in the governorate and they caught 12 youths in the act of harassing families and women.
Girls harassed: Police have arrested a physically handicapped person for harassing girls inside a shopping mall in Salmiya, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information rushed to the spot and caught the youth red-handed while passing indecent comments.
He has been referred to the authorities.
Suicide bid: An Asian housemaid who tried in vain to end her life by slitting her wrists has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A case of suicide attempt has been registered against her. Police will interrogate the woman after her condition gets better.
Financial fraud detained: Securitymen arrested a 44-year-old Kuwaiti wanted by law for his involvement in a financial case in Fahaheel Sunday.
Police got suspicious when they noticed the confused state of the suspect when he reached a checkpoint in the early hours Sunday. After checking his security records, police discovered the Kuwaiti is wanted by law for his involvement in a financial case, as he has been convicting of swindling an unidentified person to the tune of KD12,000. He was referred to the relevant security department for the necessary legal action.
KD 600 stolen: Police are loo-king for nine people for breaking into a grocery in Fahaheel and stealing with KD 600 after assaulting the grocer, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In a similar but unrelated incident, police are looking for three people who allegedly broke into a cell phone shop and escaped with KD 300 cash and an unidentified number of cell telephones, the daily added.
According to the complainant the men entered the shop, closed the door behind them and threatened to kill the salesman if they raised an alarm and escaped with the loot.
Phones, laptop stolen: A Ku-waiti man, 40, registered a complaint at Abdullah Mubarak Police Station, saying his two cell phones and a laptop were stolen from his vehicle which was parked in front of his house on Tuesday. Securitymen and Criminal Evidence Department men rushed to the scene and picked fingerprints from the vehicle.
Police are looking for the culprits.
Wanted man caught: Secu-ritymen arrested a Kuwaiti man, 33, who was wanted by law for his involvement in four finance and criminal cases on Wafra Motorway Tuesday. Patrols had initially stopped the suspect for speeding, but on checking records, came to know that he was a wanted man. The Kuwaiti was arrested and referred to authorities.
