KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: McDonalds-Kuwait badminton players showed all the other teams the stuff they are made of to keep their team in the drivers seat after the 3rd week of the 17th Conference “5th Toyo Tires Cup” at Fahaheel Sports Center, Friday. The tournament, which is being organized by the Filipino Badminton Association in Ahmadi (FBAA), saw McDonalds-Kuwait amass 140 wins and 414 points to stay ahead of Toyo Tires, who were occupying second place with 130 wins and 388 points. The event is being held over various categories with the scores earned in each being counted towards the overall total.

Men’s A
In Men’s A, Worley Parsons B collected a 3-1 win and 8-4 points against McDonalds B when Sherwin Felizardo and Bon Elamparo edged Rowx Bugas and Ed Antonio 12-15, 15-11, 15-13, Sherwin and Ron Margate overcame Rowx and Sonny Cajipe in 2 extended sets 15-13, 19-18 and Bon with Tony Osea brushed aside Ed and Gerry Labagnoy 19-18, 15-13.
McDonalds B did not go home empty handed and scored when Sonny Cajipe and Gerry Labagnoy overwhelmed Ron Margate and Tony Osea 15-12, 15-9.
Western Union leveled with 2 wins and 7-5 points against Toyo Tires after Carlo Bornilla and Norman Abad thumped Zahid Islam and Allan Bondoc 15-10, 15-9, while Carlo and Gerry Aguilar tamed Zahid and Francis Enriquez 15-9, 15-6.
Toyo Tires bounced back through Francis and JP Parayno as they overwhelmed Gerry Aguilar and Emil 17-15, 15-10 while the tandem of Allan Bondoc and JP beat Norman and Emil Millanar 11-15, 15-10, 15-9.
Meanwhile, McDonalds A took a 3-1 win and 9-3 points against Worley Parsons A as Albert Marcelo and Joms Tantiangco beat Joenel Seva and Jong Rimando 17-15, 15-7, while Dave Laguio and Philip Marimla overpowered Rommel Carlos and Edward Pascual 15-10, 18-16 and Joms with Philip tamed Jong and Edward 15-6, 15-11.

Worley Parsons A won through Joenel Seva and Edward Pascual as they overcame Abert Marcelo and Dave Laguio 19-18, 15-6.
In the afternoon matches, Toyo Tires scored a 3-1 win and 8-4 points against Mc Donalds B after Francis and JP edged Sonny and Gerry 16-18, 15-9, 15-10 while Zahid and JP thumped Rowx and Gerry 15-11, 15-7 and Allan with Francis tamed Ed and Sonny 15-7, 15-5.
Rowx and Ed scored for McDonalds B when they beat Zahid and Allan 19-17, 15-12.
Western Union achieved a 3-1 win and 8-4 points against Worley Parsons A as Gerry and Emil outlasted Rommel and Edward 18-19, 15-8, 16-14, Carlo and Emil wasted no effort to thrash Joenel and Edward 15-6, 15-7 and Norman with Gerry edged Jong and Rommel in a seesaw battle 15-9, 7-15, 15-12.
Worley Parsons A won when Joenel and Jong outlasted Carlo and Norman 15-12, 16-18, 15-8.

In Men’s B, Western Union A pulled off a 3-1 win and 8-4 points against Western Union B as Arnel Lara and July Espiritu brushed aside Arnold Miclat and Mokbul Hussein 15-10, 15-11 while Roy Francisco and Cesar Isidro were made to sweat before they could edge Joel Marasigan and Aileen 15-13, 11-15, 15-11 and the tandem of Arnel and Roy overcame Arnold and Joel 15-9, 17-15.
Western Union B won when Mokbul and Aileen hammered July and Cesar 15-8, 15-9.
Toyo Tires B and McDonalds tied with 2 wins and 6 points each as Rio Ferrer and Arjay Lesaca edged Ryan Aguilar and Kenjie Corpuz in a seesaw battle 15-11, 9-15, 15-11, while Rio and Lala Tan wasted no time to beat Ryan and Arnie Manuel 15-9, 15-12.

Later that day, McDonalds were in their best form when they scored a landslide 4-0 victory over Western Union B and collected 10-2 points after Ryan and Kenjie outlasted Arnold and Mokbul 15-12, 11-15, 15-12, Arnie and Roma edged Joel and Aileen 18-16, 13-15, 15-9, Ryan and Roma thumped Arnold and Aileen 15-8, 15-13 and Kenjie with Arnie tamed Mokbul and Joel 15-11, 15-6.
