Kuwaiti exports to Egypt hits $46.2mn n Trade volume posts 15.9 pct rise in ’09 KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6, (KUNA): Volume of Kuwaiti exports to Egypt reached $46. 2 million a year; $38.7 million of which are from oil derivatives, an Egyptian diplomat said Monday.
Trade volume between Kuwait and Egypt is at an annual increase of 15.9 percent, going up from $247.1 million in 2007 to $286.5 million in 2008, head of the commercial representation office at the Egyptian embassy in Kuwait Minister Plenipotentiary Abdulwahab Abdulalim told KUNA.
As for Kuwait imports from Egypt, Abdulalim said they are mainly food products; valued at approximately $44.1 million, in addition to cooking ovens and electric cables worth of $13.2 million.
Other Egyptian-made products to Kuwait include refrigerators ($five million), air conditioners ($8.1 million) and medications ($3.3 million), he added.
