A five-year-old Saudi Arabian girl died and her four-year old sister sustained severe burns all over the body when fire engulfed the diwaniya inside their family home in Taima while their parents and the rest of the family members were attending the night prayers.
Apparently, the incident was caused by an electric short circuit.
Based on a distress call passersby had reportedly placed to the Operations Room in that regard, fire brigades from Jahra and Herafy centers plus paramedics were prompt to the location and they managed to control the blaze without it extending to the main house. In the meantime, the injured child was rushed to the Jahra Hospital for treatment, and the deceased was taken to the Forensics for autopsy. The case has since been registered for investigation.
